Charming oil painting on canvas by renowned genre artist George Armfield (1808-1893), of two dogs chasing a pheasant. The expression of sheer dog happiness in the chase. and the pheasant at a safe distance, contribute to the delightful character of this Armfield classic. The woodland scene has retained rich color and fine detail. This is a gem! Presented in very good condition, probably relined and needing no restoration. In gilt frame measuring approximately 14” wide by 11.5” high, with canvas sight about 8” by 10”. Ready to enjoy in your special place. Take this one home!
