Charming oil painting on canvas by renowned genre artist George Armfield (1808-1893), of two dogs chasing a pheasant. The expression of sheer dog happiness in the chase. and the pheasant at a safe distance, contribute to the delightful character of this Armfield classic.
The woodland scene has retained rich color and fine detail. This is a gem!
Presented in very good condition, probably relined and needing no restoration. In gilt frame measuring approximately 14” wide by 11.5” high, with canvas sight about 8” by 10”.
