Harvey was a British artist active from the late 19th century until his death in 1933. Some sources list his birth year as 1862 and others as 1866. He signed works as "J.R. Harvey" and sometimes as John Rathbone Harvey or John Rabone Harvey. He was a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA.
