About the Item

Lovely painting by the artist. Several small areas of inpainting mostly around the top and edges, visible under black light only. Several small areas of paint loss in upper center (see picture). Stable craquelure throughout. Varnish is congeled, especially on the top half. The painting has been lined, approx. 30 years ago. Restoration would normally be recommended but not absolutely necessary. Custom frame size is 38 1/2in by 48in. Signed and dated 1884, lower right.
