About the Item

"Mirror" 200x150cm\ 200x150cm original oil painting on canvas "Mirror" hand signed certificate of authenticity This intriguing artwork features a surreal scene where a fluffy white goat sits regally on a purple chair, its presence both unsettling and captivating. The floor is a striking pattern of pink and white diamond tiles, creating a whimsically disorienting backdrop. In front of the goat, a teal table juts sharply into the frame, adding a dynamic contrast with its cool tone. On the table, a singular purple smartphone or a play card lies. The composition’s bold color choices and unexpected subject matter challenge traditional perceptions, inviting viewers to ponder themes of power, technology, and identity. This artwork stands out for its imaginative blend of realism and fantasy, making it a compelling conversation starter. the painting will be shipped rolled Aureum’s language is characterized by freedom of the sign, soft chromatism and rapidity of representation. She is an artist recognized above all for her ability to translate emotional expressions, inner disturbances in order to reveal the psyche of the represented subjects. Anastasia does not portray reality but it is the reality itself to become a representation of the inner world of all of us, in a portentous whole. Anastasia dialogues with the chromatic material which she lets flow freely onto the support, touching the most intimate strings of the viewer”s soul. They are colorful emotions that cling to the support and that are established in the soul through the perception of the visual impulse. Each color represents an emotion and a feeling, vibrating on the support, becoming the narrative of an eternalized fleeting moment. Aureum is an internationally renowned visual artist with the background in fine art and interior design. Antique and vintage furniture, contemporary and modern art and accessories inspire her. Anastasia's creations are characterized by a wide range of styles. Surrealism, realism and abstraction are merged in a passionate art dance. Embracing, discovering and penetrating each other, they take on new forms and shades in every new painting. The artist reflects on the relationship between space and forms, where colour is an emotional response to the way they intersect. Aureum's works are a personal interiorization that matches the search for a deeper meaning, beyond visible reality. Her’s is a desire to go further on then the pure representation of reality, a need to tell something that goes behind the external aspect, something that speaks of subject’s inner nature. Reimago

“Good artists borrow. Great artists steal.” A quote oft attributed to various sources that was never actually uttered by any of them. Though Mark Twain elaborated on the sentiment: “Ninety-nine parts of all things that proceed from the intellect are plagiarisms.” In the Framed Series, I use my 1% contribution to combine issues of consumption with my autobiography. I paint copies of copies of paintings within paintings to reference the appropriation, commodification, and altered continuum of art. My paintings of paintings are based on photographs of originals to perpetuate the continual distillation of form, given the ease with which images are presently exchanged and modified. Further, by reducing historically significant paintings to framed objects hanging on walls, I augment art as a commodity and reconcile the conflict between the artificially assigned monetary value of artworks with the reality that they are simply swirls of paint. In this way, I am also acknowledging the literality of my own work. I have also altered each copied painting to personalize the context of the pieces and address specific autobiographical ideas. These ideas relate to a range of both recent and distant experiences, both funny and sad. Although my initial renderings are digital image composites, my medium of choice is oil paint, applied in transparent layers, using the image on the computer screen as a reference. In addition to its lush visual properties, I enjoy the flexibility of oil paint in making acute renderings as well as the evolution of the imagery from paint to digital and back to paint in further protracting both the distillation and evolution of form. statement on piece "The character Jame Gumb, from the 1991 film and 1988 book, The Silence of the Lambs...
