About the Item
In the oil on canvas, on the right, a young woman is depicted with dark hair tied up and held in place by ribbons of pearls. She is dressed in warrior clothes: she wears a red tunic with wide sleeves, while the torso is protected by a metal breastplate; with his left arm he holds a helmet, adorned on the top by a golden lion. The opposite arm is raised in greeting, addressed to a pair of shepherds at the door of a house. The one in the foreground, older and bearded, is intent on weaving a wicker basket, interrupted in his own work, wearing simple clothes, with ocher hues; further away, in the background, there is a young man with a whistle, long hair and a beardless face, an expression of amazement on his eyes.
