Etienne Cail est né en 1991.
C’est dans le cadre de l’atelier deSèvres, qu’Etienne Cail conforté par ses pairsdécidera de prendre son envol dans le mondedes peintres.Nous somme en 2009, il n’a alors que 18 anset affaire rarissime il a déjà trouvé son style,sa « pâte ». Après la représentation de l’atelier qu’il a réalisé sous tous les angles, EtienneCail s’est engagé à construire « ses gueules »,des adversaires qu’il défiera à grand coup de pinceaux.
Au coeur des ateliers de cette Chine actuelle il découvre cet art à la fois puissant et subtil. Ici, les rebelles du monde de l’art ne sont pas des dissidents au sens strict du terme, ils se battent pour l’indépendance de la
création dans un pays où la liberté est encadrée. Cette capacité à créer une force intelligible malgré ces contraintes force l’admiration du jeune peintre qui se retourne sur d’anciennes provocations artistiques qu’il jugera dés lors trop faciles.Dés son retour en France, la création d’une nouvelle série de portraits appuient déjà cette nouvelle maturité et un nouveau projet prend parallèlement vie autour d’un songe: si tous les grands moments de l’histoire et les plus grands chefs d’oeuvres se matérialisaient sous des vues asiatiques, quel visage succéderait à celui de Louis XIV et quelle ambiance l’inviterait au « Déjeuner sur l’herbe » ? La peinture insaisissable de cejeune talent fait de lui un artiste à suivre.En 2016 il est invité en résidence à Rabat. Durant 6 mois l’artiste senourrit d’une grande curiosité , d’inspirations nouvelles et accè de à ce «regard orientaliste » dont parlaient les nombreux peintres voyageurs ayantré sidé s au Maroc. Ses premiè res toiles reprennent des sujets classiquestels que les paysages naturels, les scè nes de hammam et les portraitsRoyaux.

Born in Granville, France, on April 14, 1968, François Benoît-Lison began with a figurative approach, which gradually evolved into abstraction, first lyrical, then more contrasting, where black reigns supreme. Black is a sacred color, sometimes dark, sometimes dazzling, without limits, it can be dominant or gentle.
After acrylics and oils, bituminous pastes and inks opened another door, that of the abstract, much more profound and contemporary, with the possibility of working these materials in many aspects and forms.
