Dutch artist Gerard Boersma studied painting and fine art at the “School of Arts Minerva” in the Netherlands. He specialized in metric form and realistic painting. Since graduating in 2001, he has been working as a professional artist and lives and works in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
Gerards Boersma has his own original style of realistic painting. The hyperrealistic paintings freeze time so that our fast and busy lives are captured forever in a moment that is finally ready to be viewed in peace. They show us nothing new, just snippets of our reality. Perhaps future generations, living in completely different urban spaces and with completely different needs and desires than we do, will look at these paintings with wonder and curiosity and learn how their ancestors lived from day to day.
Gerard Boersma's art can be found in museums, galleries and private collections worldwide, in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and has been shown at leading art fairs in Europe and the United States.
