A beautiful signed and dated 1943 impressionist oil on board depicting a seated lady, by Belgian painter Jacques Hanot (Jacano).
Excellent quality and condition work, siggned lower right and nicely framed.
Artist: Jacques Hanot (Belgian, 1923-1995)

Jacques Hanot, known as Jacano (a phonetic spelling for his name) was born in Brussels in 1923. He drew and painted what he saw of the city's daily life. The Grand-Place was his favourite subject.
During his career, entirely dedicated to art, he tackled various subjects, ranging from portraits to paintings cars and airplanes. Much travelling helped him to enrich his inspiration.
Undisputable master of his drawings and paintings, his range of colours evolved from the grey and softer shades of the Belgian climate to the brilliant and powerful colours he experienced in the Sunshine of Africa and other Sunny countries.
He began with oil and water colours; latrer, he added acrylics to which he sometimes included gold and aluminium leaves. He later used epoxy and polyurethane resins for decorating wall panels and table tops. He extended his drawing to the decoration of ceramics.
His warm and attrative personality drew his friends into his world of dreams, of beauty and light.
