About the Item

Through the rhythm of my movement, I awaken my soul and step into the journey of healing. Each movement carries the weight of untold stories, each twirl pulls me closer to my roots, and every beat reminds me of my resilience. This is more than dance to me, it is transformation, a sacred celebration of life, and my pathway to wholeness and healing. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube. This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. About Artist Jethro King Oluwatosin is a multidisciplinary artist, delving deep into the spiritual essence of dance, utilizing the human body as his expressive canvas, and passionately revitalizing the lost African heritage. Originating from Ogbomosho, nestled in the heart of Oyo State, Nigeria, Jethro's journey led him to pursue Art and Industrial Design at Lagos State Polytechnic, now Lagos State University of Science and Technology. His artistic repertoire primarily comprises paintings adorned with intricate lines and symbols, a practice he dubs "The African Mantra." Jethro's ingenuity lies in his ability to explore the therapeutic aspects of hobbies and vulnerability, as evidenced by his journey where dance becomes a powerful antidote against negativity, a beacon of hope, and a means of purging toxic emotions. He portrays body movements, a fluidity that is inspired by his profound ability to his and others’ feelings through body painting. His artistic expression knows no bounds, finding resonance on various surfaces, particularly the human form, walls, and canvas, where he breathes life into his narratives. ARTIST STATEMENT My art is movement, a rhythm etched onto bodies and canvases alike. Dance is my prayer, my release, my laughter in the face of the unknown. It is where my emotions find language, where my spirit speaks without words. Every stroke I paint carries the pulse of my steps, the echo of my body surrendering to music only I can hear. My work is the reflection of that rhythm, bold, unfiltered, alive. Through it, I heal. Through it, I exist.

Nakedness of Truth
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Nakedness of Truth is an original painting by Abifola Olorunlana. Olorunlana created Nakedness of Truth with Acrylic on a 36W by 48H inches primed canvas. Nakedness of Truth was made over a painting Abifola Olorunlana did and didn't like (an underlying painting depicting four figures fetching water from a river and gossiping about someone they didn't like). The Nakedness of Truth is a painting that advocates for people who belong to the LGBTQ community and salutes their unity in making the movement impactful globally. For years many have stayed reclusive about their true identity due to religious beliefs, societal constructs, and government laws which have left many depressed till their last days, many were even killed for courageously coming out to state their true identity. This is depicted in the painting: dark yellow eyes sticking out of the woods to portray a sense of public rejection, yet my subject boldly stands out of the green woods and leaves to express courage, strength, and power. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Olorunlana Abifola (b. 1999) is an emerging visual artist from Nigeria whose works of art cut across mix-media and contemporary art paintings which includes portrait paintings of Black people...
