This new exclusive painting by JISBAR draws from Jacques Deray’s La Piscine (1969), starring Alain Delon (Jean-Paul), Romy Schneider (Marianne), Maurice Ronet (Harry) and Jane Birkin (Pénélope).
Set on the Côte d’Azur, the story tightens into a high-tension chamber piece: relentless sun, glances that collide, jealousy rising, and fragile balances tipping around a pool whose brightness contrasts with the characters’ deepening shadows, all the way to the breaking point.
La Piscine - a radiant, vibrant creation that already stands out as an essential work by the artist Jisbar.
JISBAR reframes these cues with a decisively contemporary pop language: vivid azures and crisp whites, tiled patterns and watery reflections, lettering, symbols and notations that punctuate the image like thoughts caught mid-flight. Tight framings, light/shadow contrasts and clipped phrases echo the film’s machinery, between breezy summer allure and psychological strain, yielding an immediate, graphic, and highly collectible piece.

Jisbar is a French artist born in 1989. He has been interpreting symbols of pop culture for 10 years. He offered his own interpretation of our consumer society imbued with media and geek references. The artist depicts with irony references and major figures of pop culture. He is inspired by elements from his everyday life and prefers to represent 'moments of life'. The artist is inspired by diverse urban art forms, such as fashion, music, and even the skateboard world. Ode to an era gone and a taste for nostalgia, his artworks crystallize moments from the past. He instinctively and spontaneously paints to express himself.
