About the Item
In Theories, the viewer is confronted with an enigmatic scene where time and space seem to dissolve. Two sculptures float suspended in a dark, earthy-toned environment, divided by a red curtain that suggests a partially opened theatrical backdrop. This division seems to mark not just a physical boundary but also a symbolic one—between past and present, or perhaps between reason and intuition.
On the left, the sculpture detaches from its pedestal like a thought taking flight. The barely suggested table, upon which the sculpture’s base rests, holds books sketched in fine lines, symbols of knowledge that are barely visible yet always present. On the right, a fragment of a Roman face emerges from the background, with rectangles projecting outward like a visual study of human perception, reminiscent of medical charts.
Everything in this work points to an intellectual and human journey: the fragmented forms, the classical references, the duality between object and shadow. Theories is a reflection on how we construct meaning and knowledge, the traces we leave behind, and the ways in which culture and science interact within a shared and floating space.

At the heart of this clearly surrealist painting is a window, a portal to the outside world that holds multiple meanings and suggests a profound reflection on the human condition.

Theories II
Located in CAMPO REAL, ES
"Theories II" is a surrealist work that explores human theories through time. In the center, two heads of classical sculptures emerge against a divided background. The head of Dionysus, in earthy tones, projects a vision that distorts reality, symbolizing man's illusory perspective. From this vision emerge colorful forms that converge towards a floating book...
