About the Artist:
Lloyd Moylan was an accomplished American painter who studied at the Minneapolis Art Institute, the Art Students League in New York, and the Broadmoor Academy in Colorado Springs. He served as the Curator of the Museum of Navajo Ceremonial Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Moylan is best known for his depictions of Southwest Indigenous and Hispanic cultures, inspired by extensive travels through Arizona and New Mexico. His works are held in notable collections, including the Museum of New Mexico and the Penrose Public Library.

Lloyd Moylan
Lloyd Moylan was a painter who specialized in Southwest Indian subjects and was also a museum curator and muralist, whose work is in the Museum of New Mexico and the Penrose Public Library. He studied at the Minneapolis Art Institute, the Art Students League in New York and the Broadmore Art Academy in Colorado Springs. From 1929–31, Noylon taught at the Broadmore Academy and later became Curator of the Museum of Navajo Ceremonial Art in Santa Fe. From the time he attended the Broadmore Academy, he made numerous trips into Arizona and New Mexico where he sketched and painted the Hispanic and Indian population.
