This artwork "Haitian Market" c.1990, is an oil painting on canvas by Haitian artist Maurice Guerre, b.1947. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The canvas size is 16 x 12 inches, framed size is 20.25 x 16.25 inches. Framed in a wooden light and dark brown frame. It is in excellent condition, the frame have some small minor restorations, barely visible.
About the artist:
Maurice Guerre was born on December 25, 1947, in Anse-A-Veau, east of the capital. When his family moved to Port-au-Prince, he attended primary school at Casenes Dessalines. He began to paint in 1970, helped by Sony Pierre. His favorite colors seem to be blue and mauve. (Haiti Voodoo to Modern Riviera by John Allen Franciscus)

Claude Grosperrin is a French painter and lithographer born on November 26, 1936, at Charenton-le-Pont ( Val-de-Marne ) and died on July 16, 1977, in Paris. Claude Grosperrin is in 1956 the student of Maurice Brianchon at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, then attended the School of Applied Arts Duperré. The price of the Casa de Velázquez that he won in 1961 earned him a trip to Madrid from 1961 to 1962.
