About the Item
This contemporary expressive artwork, "Cherries, Apples, and Flowers," by French artist Natalya Mougenot, is a vivid exploration of the beauty in everyday objects. Part of her “Still-Life” series, the piece is filled with vibrant colors—reds, yellows, greens, and blues—that serve as her tools of expression. In this work, she celebrates the simple joys of life through the imagery of a blue vase holding summer flowers, red cherries, and green apples in a basket. These familiar, yet delightful elements are imbued with the warmth and sunshine of summer, inviting viewers to savor the beauty in the small, ordinary moments of life.
Mougenot’s approach is rooted in contemporary styles with influences of brut art and expressionism. She embraces abstraction, working without a set plan to allow for spontaneity and freedom in the creative process. For her, completing a painting in one sitting is essential, as it enables her to channel her emotions and energy directly into the canvas—capturing the moment in a way that can never be replicated once finished.
The use of bright, bold colors in this piece is more than just a stylistic choice for Mougenot; it is a reflection of her current mood and mindset. The intense, vivid colors represent powerful emotions and high energy, infusing the artwork with a dynamic vitality. She hopes that these striking colors will evoke a positive, uplifting visual impact on her viewers.
For Mougenot, color is key to adding a sense of movement and life to her work. She works rapidly and freely, focusing on the rhythm of her brushstrokes and the emotions conveyed through her hands. The result is a bold and eclectic mix of art that radiates energy, spontaneity, and color.
This piece is created with acrylic paints on heavyweight professional paper and has been varnished to protect it from fading and preserve the vibrancy of the colors. "Cherries, Apples, and Flowers" is sold unframed, offering the flexibility for you to frame it according to your own taste and the space in which it will hang. Framed examples of the artwork are included for inspiration.
As a unique, one-of-a-kind original painting, "Cherries, Apples, and Flowers" is signed on the front and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It will be carefully packaged in a cardboard box with layers of bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery.
Please note that colors may vary slightly between the actual painting and the image on your screen due to differences in digital camera results and monitor settings.

Natalya is a contemporary artist from Lyon, France. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes and low mountains. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis when she was struggling with radical life changes. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. Several years ago painting became more than a hobby. It became a way of expressing her emotions and visions, a successive reaction to events of either personal or general concern. Her artist statement: “ I paint as it’s a necessity for my soul to express itself. Being creative for me is overcoming the restrictions. My art is a piece of my soul. I hope my art inspires reflection, provides a release and forms connection at other people’s souls”. She has developed her own vision of art through practicing a lot. She makes use of varying degrees of figuration, abstraction and impressionism by adding a contemporary twist. Abstract art for her is an interesting challenge for understanding inner feelings, a self-expression based on an intuitive approach. In figurative art her main subject remains women. Her artworks representing women contain the raw emotions of women. She also communicates the importance and the power of strong female relationships: “Women are enriched when they bond with each other”. She works in series: among them are "Heart-mind connection" of abstract artworks, "Women", "Bond", "Florals", "Springtime"... She uses various mediums ( acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastels) to create her unique artworks either on canvas or on paper. But she mainly uses acrylic as she works very quickly and expressively by finishing her artwork in one sitting. If Natalya had to pick one quote about her art, she would say : " Art is the reflection of the soul". Natalya goes with her gut and intuition to choose the colors, the lines, the shapes and the texture. She hopes her artworks will give a home a unique personality by filling it with life and color. Her sources of inspirations are Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Gauguin. She also admires the artworks of Joan Mitchell and Banksy.
