One Step Away from Perfection

She is the embodiment of elegance: a white dress, white gloves, smooth posture, flawless skin. Her whole appearance seems carefully crafted to be proper, pure, ideal. In front of her stands a classical statue in a perfectly manicured garden — a space of symmetry, control, and silent expectation.
But in her hair, a black bow — like a butterfly holding its breath before taking flight. It’s not rebellion, but a moment of pause: should I truly become perfect?
This painting captures a subtle moment of inner dialogue — where the external image of perfection no longer answers the deeper question of who one truly wants to be. She stands at the edge of a cultural mirror, where the ideal is not a goal, but a trap.
Olena Kishkurno was born in Ukraine in 1976. She graduated from Kharkiv State academy of design and arts with a master's degree as a restorer of easel and monumental painting. Since 2022 lives in Germany. Olena is an artist who explores the changes in humans resulting from the clash with the digital world, their integration into this realm, and subsequently, the loss of connection with their original essence.
The main mediums are painting and graphics. Works with oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media.
