About the Item
Artist Comments
"These spring flowers from a friend's garden made a beautiful and inspiring floral wreath for my model, Samantha," shares artist Sherri Aldawood. In this delicate portrait, Sherri draws the colors from the wreath and extends them into the soft pastels of the background and Samantha's gossamer clothing. Her crossed hands and glowing hair frame her gentle expression.
About the Artist
Sherri Aldawood didn't intend to always paint flowers, but over time her love of gardens started to permeate her art. She focuses on the light and color of the flowers on the canvas. Sherri prefers alla prima, working with wet layers of paint instead of letting them dry. She keeps the paint as wet as possible by using walnut and clove oil to extend the drying time.

About the Artist
Naoko Paluszak began her career by studying graphic design in Tokyo, followed by several years working as a designer, before switching to oil painting. Now located in the United States, Naoko continues to develop her style through different series of paintings that have varying degrees of abstraction. By bridging representational with non-representational forms, the artist seeks to stir personal memories and spark new narratives. “Art is about having a sense of mystery and drama,” she says. Naoko is also passionate about color. She mixes her paints based on the intuitive emotions that different colors can trigger within the viewer, and within herself.
