Therese James
We are pleased to sell works on behalf of Therese James. Therese is a full time artist painting and exhibiting since 1993. As a member of the Naive School she works from a compulsion to recreate what she feels and sees. As a self taught naive she relies purely on an instinctive approach to her art and has developed her own style with expressive characters who inhabit the world of her paintings. Therese gets much of her inspiration from the places and literature of her native Wales and the West Country of England. She says she paints the way she paints because she doesn’t know “the rules” and her paintings are a journey of discovery. More recently she has been inspired to use her painterly skills to create wild and untamed responses to nature, creating semi abstracted, almost primal, sea and landscapes reflecting the raw untrained, instinctive way in which she works. Therese is very well collected with her works in collections in N. America, Europe, Australasia and Asia.

American Contemporary Painting Artist Model Easel Gun Richard Huntington Mexico
By Richard Huntington
Located in Buffalo, NY
An original acrylic on canvas by American artist Richard Huntington entitled "Model Shoots Artist". This new work is part of the current gallery exhibition, A Sense of Place which runs through the end of June.
This special exhibition is a celebration of the work of 4 extraordinary artists who used to call Western New York home.
Travel lust, adventure, and livelihood have taken each of these artists to distant places, including China, Mexico, Massachusetts, and New York City, but they will always be a treasured part of Buffalo's dynamic arts community.
Acknowledging that a sense of place can be an element in any work of art, shaping or transforming it depending on intentions and explorations, Resource:Art is thrilled to present this selection of new work by each of these unique artists.
Richard Huntington is a writer, printmaker, and painter who lives in Buffalo, N.Y. and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Born in Albany, N.Y., Huntington received a BFA from Syracuse University in 1959 and an MFA in 1963 from the University at Buffalo, where he studied under Seymour Drumlevitch. He taught studio and art history courses at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.; lived and worked in New York City, where he showed at the Fulton Street Gallery and other venues; was an art critic for the Buffalo Courier...

"Abandoned by My Family in Chicago" Outsider Art in Acrylic on Canvas
Located in Soquel, CA
Surreal depiction of a figure walking though a city by Marshall Woodall (American, b. 1958). The cityscape is represented in outlines only, creating the impression of being lit up in neon lights at night. The figure walking through the scene is an outline, reminiscent of a walk sign. Throughout the piece, there are hidden faces in the buildings.
Signed, dated, and titled on verso along the stretcher: Marshall Woodall Aug 12/2019 'Abandoned by my family in Chicago'
Unframed, but the edges are painted for a frame-less display.
Canvas size: 16"H x 20"W
Marshall Woodall (b. 1958) was born in Oklahoma City, OK. Woodall’s fascination with art began at an early age. His life has been a journey into self-expression and storytelling through music, drawing, and painting. ‘‘I am off the wall and have an unusual imagination. I think about things that people don’t always think about or notice.’’ Self-taught but inspired by Gary Larson...
