Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Hassan Wasiu Sunday was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He is a visual artist with a rich educational background, growing up in Ibadan. He obtained his primary education in Eruwa and completed his secondary education at Baptist Model High School, Sango, Eruwa. His artistic journey continued with a National Diploma from Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, achieving an upper credit. He is currently at the Polytechnic, Ibadan, for his higher national diploma in painting technology. During his industrial training, Hassan honed his skills at Oluwole Omofemi Art Studio and the Center for African Arts and Design Gallery owned by Doctor Ellis Oyekola in Ibadan. His first art residency was under the Centre for African Art and Design Gallery, Ibadan, and his second art residency program was under the TR Residency Program in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. he also participated in the Ibadan Art Fair Exhibition, marking the beginning of a promising career. His initial art training took place at Heritage Creations in Eruwa, under the mentorship of Mr. Godwin Segun Adesope. Through his art, Hassan aims to convey the value of cultural heritage, address societal issues, and provide a platform for aesthetic storytelling. His motivation lies in inspiring resilience and strength during life’s challenges. His portfolio spans realism, expressionism, and abstract expression, and he merges these to forge his distinctive styles, enriched with African motifs and geometric patterns, forms, captures the essence of his community.
