We have not examined out of frame. Patrick LoCicero was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1959. He attended Youngstown State University, Ohio, and the Columbus College of Art and Design. He completed a B.F.A. at Ohio State University in 1982 and an M.F.A. at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1986. His paintings, installations, prints, and multimedia work have been shown in California, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. LoCicero's richly layered imagery is characterized by unusual juxtapositions of everyday objects and classical motifs, which play with the viewer's perception of materials and subjects. LoCicero’s assemblage paintings combine collage with painting. The overlap and collage elements relate directly to the images he depicts, guiding him in his choice of subjects, and come from a variety of sources including the Kama Sutra, antique children’s books, letters and journals. His still life paintings resonate due to the contrast the artist sets up between the collaged surface and the painted surface, as well as the play between the actual shallow space and implied deep space. Patrick specializes in creating mixed-media collages that tell stories. Collage paintings inventively reinterpret the collage technique that developed during the Cubist Dada era, and he reinvigorates one of the most important modes of expression in the art of the 20th Century. Christine McGinnis LaPelle (American, 1937-2019) "Guardians of the Rings" Frame: 32" X 26" Image: 30" X 24" Christine McGinnis LaPelle, award winning artist, co-owner of Rodger LaPelle Galleries, artist and printmaker. McGinnis was the wife of fellow artist and printmaker, Rodger LaPelle. Together for over 60 years, they paved a way of life for new and upcoming artists in the Philadelphia arts community. A carriage house in Germantown in Awbury Arboretum was their home for over 50 years where Christine painted in her studio there. This was from the estate exhibition of the Rodger LaPelle Galleries, Philadelphia, PA, Entirely Absurd. Rodger LaPelle and his wife Christine McGinnis first emerged on the Philadelphia art scene by establishing a fine art printing studio. Here, they employed local artists and recent PAFA and art school graduates, ultimately founding the Rodger LaPelle Galleries in 1980. Representing such artists as David Lynch, Peter Paone, Paul Wunderlich, and Tom Palmore, among many others, the gallery established a distinct presence in the Philadelphia artistic community by offering works characterized by an absurdist surrealist aesthetic, often vacillating between the darkly surreal and hilariously nonsensical. Sci fi, robots, comets, space and animals all figured in this colorful jumble of surrealism, fantastic realism and whimsy. RobitSuch works transport their viewers to places unfamiliar, perhaps haunting, revealing the artists' strange and disturbing impulses. Artists who have exhibited at the Rodger LaPelle Galleries in Philadelphia include Rolland Becerra, Jimmy Bellew, Rachel Bess, and Alex Cohen. The aspiration to be a painter stems from his childhood and before leaving Poland, he won the first prize in an art competition for children. Zamy was formally educated at the Art School in Tel-Aviv and at the Royal Academy of London. Upon completing his studies, Zamy earnestly pursued his career and establish his place in the art world by displaying his work in one man exhibits and arts fairs around the world. His art displays chromatic and thematic richness and his choice of subjects has been strongly influenced by Jewish tradition, his Eastern European Jewish heritage and folklore. Zamy’s popular themes include Paris cafes, still-life, flowers, circuses and landscapes. Circus with acrobats and Harlequin. In the early stages of his career, he was partial to rich pastels and light brush strokes. In the early 1980s, Zamy visited South America, where the new surroundings enhanced his work with local brightness and color. These changes coupled with his thematic persistence allowed him to develop into a sensitive and mature artist. Zamy expresses a universal humanistic vision in his creations: man’s connection to his heritage and physical surroundings, two imperative aspects of our lives that should be heralded during these estranged technological times. As a result of his devotion to world peace, Zamy is known in the circles of the Nobel Institute for Peace in Norway.
