Two walls frame an outdoor scene. One, made of concrete, boasts a silky surface that reflects the daylight, while the other showcases glass windows that reveal the structure's interior. In front of them stand trees with sparse yellow autumn leaves, providing a contrast to the buildings' linear shapes.

About the Artist
Artist Zeynep Genc explores the interaction between modern urban landscapes and the transitions of nature in her paintings. Her subjects center around Northeastern American settings, themes related to her profession, and experiences from her travels to different countries. "As an interior architect and industrial designer, my selective perception influences how I experience the surroundings and find beauty in the synchronicity of architectural and natural elements," says Zeynep. Originally from Eskisehir, Turkey, her career spanned more than 30, during which she taught interior design at Bilkent University and Middle East Technical University, Ankara. She relocated to New Jersey in 2015 and has been painting ever since. Zeynep paints in the corner of her well-lit and organized living room, listening to Italian baroque music and enjoying a cup of coffee. She spends her summers in Bodrum, Turkey, where her house sits right next to the beautiful Aegean Sea. When not creating art, she frequents museums and galleries, prepares healthy Mediterranean meals, and enjoys quality time with her family.
