Sun Chaser is a beautiful impasto landscape painting of the seaside. Rolling waves come in at the beach.
Within her impressionist landscape paintings, her experiences abroad truly come to light. These textural and abstracted paintings perfectly capture the vibrancy and movement included in a coastal sunset. This series differs from Husslein’s more controlled and smoother still life floral series which derives a more direct inspiration from art history and flower photography.

Katharina Husslein
Even in her still lifes of inanimate objects, contemporary painter Katharina Husslein brings vivid life to the canvas. Vibrant colors weave and dance in representations of hopeful optimism and in bright moments of quiet solitude.
Inspired by the vital beauty of nature, Husslein seeks to highlight the importance of protecting what we have from the looming ravages of climate change. Though nature is her primary focus, poetry and history also inform her art, with spirited colors being an underlying thread.
Born in Wertheim, Germany, Husslein grew up in a small, traditional village surrounded by rolling hills and winding rivers. She would later draw on this upbringing in the Black Forest to create her captivating work.
She left Germany to study in London and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Westminster in 2014. To further her understanding of the art industry, markets and culture, Husslein took the time to live in other parts of the world, including Los Angeles, New York City and Australia.
Husslein had her first exhibition in 2015 at the Affordable Art Fair in London. She has since exhibited internationally, including in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United States.
She returned to Germany in 2019 and lives and works out of Munich.
