About the Item

Snow Landscape _ paysage de Brie from Émile Chamard Bois Emile Chamard Bois was a French painter from XIX -XX. (1878-1947) He studied painting at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was a student of the painters Fernand Cormon and Paul Albert Laurens. He participated in several exhibitions at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne in the 1930s. In 1933, he received the silver medal from Paris _ Société Arts, Sciences et Lettres. I also joined a photo of Emile Chamard Bois young. His works are referenced in the main database artist such as Artprice, Akoun... This painting is from blue and pink period starting in 1920s ending 1945 Structural Analysis : It is an Impressionist snow landscape _ from Brie (25km east from Paris). The subject of the composition is a factory with a large chimney under the snow. The artist confronts the industrial revolution and the place of nature. Moreover a white path is crossing the scene. It's also a geometrical painting, composed with several triangles. (see image) The focal point is located in the right near the forest. Technically, the artists opposed two techniques one with heavy texture with brush marks for the snow landscape and the second one very smooth technique for painting the sky. Color analysis: Composition of white, blue Prussian and pink tone. Obviously, there is some influence with Claude Monet, especially Impression Soleil Levant - Emile Chamard bois used the same chromatic for this snow landscape. Technique: oil on canvas 33x41cm / 13x16.2 inch with gold/blue frame: 50,5x57.5cm / 19.9x 22.6 inch Thickness: 4cm It is signed _ "E Chamard Bois" On the front of the artwork.
