About the Item

Laurent Bouro, born in Touraine in 1967, is a painter and visual artist living in France. From an early age, he developed a passion for art and painting, inspired in particular by the Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani, whose work he reproduced at the age of 6. Encouraged by his entourage, he perfected his technique by training as a set painter, quickly becoming a professional artist. Bouro interprets the chiaroscuro cherished by the old masters in a modern, minimalist way. The light of the snowy white ground and the intense colors of the trees emerge from his pure black. Bouro painstakingly composes his colors to achieve the desired harmony. And that's his strength! His colors, bordering on greediness, respond to each other with great precision, to form an intense, balanced palette. He reveals nothing of his technique, which he has perfected over the years. The only secret he confides in us is that, on his plain acrylic backgrounds, he applies oil paint. But nothing is left to chance, everything is mastered! The size of the cracks is minutely calculated, letting chemistry create the alchemy that keeps us looking at the works of this artist who, with the simplicity of shapes and colors, creates a poetic, calm and mysterious world.
