Lucy Hariot Booth
Lucy Hariot Booth was born in 1869 in Iowa and studied at the Art Students League of New York under James Carroll Beckwith, Willard Leroy Metcalf, J. Alden Weir and John Henry Twachtman. Booth also painted at Weir Farm National Historic Site in Branchville with Albert Pinkham Ryder and Weir and in 1895, was part of a select group of artists invited to study under Theodore Robinson in Townshend, Vermont. In the summer of 1895, Booth painted some of her finest landscapes, capturing the Vermont hills in vibrant blues, greens, tans and pinks with her characteristic angular compositions and broken dashes of color.
