Artist’s Statement
The world becomes more and more rushing and restive and so does the society. My artworks show a particular person in a particular state in a particular interval of time - the time stands still on a canvas in a certain moment. Transmitting feelings and emotions in combination with color-light nuances is crucial in my art. Light gently emphasizes the images, fills the form, "enlightens", goes beyond the rectangle of the canvas and envelops the audience's space, provoking the contemplative mood. The images, being transformed in my imagination, become something more than the fixation of the observed and experienced. They allow to slow-down life hustle at least for a moment to meditate as they are filled with sensations, philosophical reflections and allegorical content, inspiring to associative perception and reflections.
The Paintings Qualities
Oleksandr Serdiuk’ artworks are created on primed high-quality canvas with oil paints. Oil paints have pure pigments, as a result, the colors are bright and have covering strength on the canvas. The artist uses both open colors and combinations of several colors. New layers are being applied after the previous ones have dried properly. The texture of the painting is not homogeneous, some parts of the painting are smooth, others are rough. Different techniques and methods are used while painting – building up texture, dry brushing, scratching etc. There are numerous details that catch the eye and make a viewer explore the paintings.

Tony Thompson's combination of masterful technique with sustained contemplation results in paintings that are a delight to behold and make his compositions are a timeless contribution to the genre. The light is the main event in bucolic settings, and the artist makes this challenge look simply effortless.
In this painted, a shadowed tree line of cedar trees dominate the foreground of a meadow richly painted in tones of orange and umber. Wispy tree branches are highlighted by a pale pink sky that reflects the setting sun. Thompson's work is at the same traditional yet freshly relevant to today's environment - a classic landscape that has mass appeal!

Untitled (Salt Marsh Herring Cove)
By Cobi Moules
Located in East Quogue, NY
Landscape painting titled "Untitled (Salt Marsh Herring Cove)" by Cobi Moules - Oil on canvas
Driven by the desire for adventure and discovery, Cobi Moules embraces the beauty of nature all the while shifting its weight through the exaltation of his own existence within, and as part, of it. This is best exemplified by the way he incorporates multiple self-portraits throughout his compositions. The multiplicity of self takes both precedence over, as well as integration into, the landscape creating a world with a sense of excitement, self-worth and play.
The locations of Moules’ compositions are equally important. All of the locations were previously depicted in paintings by the Hudson River School. Through the exploration of the grand American landscape and the reflection on mid-19th century American...

TECHNOLOGY OF DIRT & AIR - Oil & Canvas Abstract Floral Painting
By Jered Sprecher
Located in Signal Mountain, TN
A companion painting to this piece, TECHNOLOGY OF DIRT is owned by the Knoxville Museum of Art.
The painting "TECHNOLOGY OF DIRT & AIR" was inspired by an image glanced as I passed by a florist shop window. Inside the florist show was a vibrant floral arrangement overflowing with roses and foliage.
On the surface of the window were reflections of architecture behind me and abstracted slivers of light and distorted shapes of things reflected though hardly recognizable. I snapped a few photographs at the time.
Several months later, I returned to those images and was intrigued at how the flowers in the image seemed to be made out of crystal and how the reflections on the window "interrupted" the ability to easily make out the forms in the photograph. I was intrigued by the complexity of the image and how recognizable elements emerged and then faded into abstraction. As I worked on this painting, I wanted it to be as if it was coming into crisp focus, while also becoming a complicated tapestry of shapes and colors. I have made six paintings in this series thus far.
Jered Sprecher is a visual artist who was born in Lincoln, Nebraska (1976). He received his M.F.A. from the University of Iowa and his B.A. from Concordia University in Nebraska. He has taught at Princeton University and Cornell University. Mr. Sprecher currently lives and works in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he is an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee.
Jered Sprecher’s studio practice explores the “handwriting” of humankind. The vocabulary that he draws from is focused on the vast array of marks and images in one’s surroundings. From this vocabulary he samples visual motifs and imports them into his paintings and drawings. These works continually focus on remnants and fragments that are captured in the midst of change, then edited and fused together in the space of painting. These images are pregnant with a longing to communicate. The success and failure of these “messages in a bottle” are the basis of his work.
Mr. Sprecher has had solo exhibitions at Wendy Cooper Gallery, Chicago; Jeff Bailey Gallery, New York; the Art Gallery of Knoxville; The Cress Gallery-UTC, Chattanooga; and Steven Zevitas Gallery, Boston. His work has also been included in group exhibitions at The Drawing Center, New York; Brooklyn Academy of Music (Next Next Art), New York; Cheekwood Museum of Art, Nashville; Des Moines Art Center; Urban Institute for Contemporary Art, Grand Rapids; Arthouse, Austin; Mark Moore Gallery...
