Over the years she has developed a solid friendship and professional collaboration with Harri Lorenzi, the well-known Brazilian botanist specialised in the study and preservation of the wild plants of Brazil, who since 1990 has collected 3,500 plant species, mostly wild varieties, in the Jardim Botanico Plantarum in Nova Odessa, which he designed. This painting can be displayed both vertically and horizontally.
The artist herself prepared the background in real, stainless silver, which gives it a modern, warm surface that chameleonically matches the colours of the surrounding walls.
Margherita Leoni was born and raised in Italy, however, she spent most of her adult life in San Paulo, Brazil. It was there that she started a collaboration with the botanical faculty of the local university, allowing her to developed an interesting research in rare botanical species studies and drawings. For this reason, most of her artworks, including the one presented here, illustrate Brasilian botanical species, both rare and common. The artist's mastery of watercolour allows her to take part in botanical expeditions where she paints in plein air. Given her exquisite watercolour technique and her extensive botanical knowledge, Margherita Leoni is considered the heir of Margaret Mee...

Mighty oak on a gold-leaf background by Italian botanical artist
By Margherita Leoni
Located in Milan, IT
The artist has an elegant mark of nature, and the experience of working en plein air allows her to capture emotions that would otherwise not be possible.
She is considered Italy's best botanical artist and collaborates with many botanical gardens where she also holds watercolour courses, a technique she masters like few contemporary artists.

Frammento, Painting, Oil on Canvas
By Marilina Marchica
Located in Yardley, PA
Frammento oil on canvas 120x100 cm In Marilina Marchica's search for the «authentic place» coincides with the mental one; her work originates within a score in which the harmonization between space, volume, shape and texture assumes fundamental importance. A sort of homorhythm with the earth. This connection makes experience dialogue with what is now in an unprecedented form of landscape, scattered with decadent traces belonging to actions, words, through the changing action of matter and chemistry converted into art. Marchica's works bear witness to the cyclical relationship between life and death: a continuous becoming whose elements, linked to the void and to an all too tangible absence, remain engraved and indelible like the footprints of the ground that we have trampled and that others after us they will trample, mixing our life with other stories...
