About the Item
I was attracted to painting this building because of its rich red colour and that was the starting point for creating various colour harmonies involving violets and different shades of green in the trees which I think generate a pleasant and satisfying aesthetic ray. Although the main preoccupation of this painting is colour, which dominates over actual form, the actual building really exists, located in the city of Manchester and so the painting is also a quasi-representational one. The painting was created in 2011 but has only become available for sale recently. It was painting in acrylic paint and some ink on board.
