About

This pieces, signed & dated LL is of Daisy Hyde Leiter the younger daughter of the co-founder of the Marshall Field Department Store chain, depicted here at age 5. He moved to Washington, D.C., where he was commissioned to draw the portraits of a number of that city's prominent citizens, including Dolly Madison and John Quincy Adams.
