ONE OF A PAIR (THE OTHER IS DE LA FEMME DE L'HOMME)
Beautiful large 1943 portrait from the French WWII era of a woman in a gentleman, oil on canvas. An engaging portrait of the man against a countryside background and wearing an overcoat (maybe an artist or an engineer) One of a pair we have, the other of his wife. The portrait is in a pristine, unrestored original state of cleanliness and is presented in its original antique gilded frame. Not much is known about the career or life of Mroz's artists. She may have given up painting because of the war or lost her life during it. There is a Michigan archive of a deceased Marion Mroz in Detroit, USA, registered as ""Marion Mroz (1892-1976)""
