About the Item

ITEM DETAILS The edges are painted Some parts of the picture glow under blue light The painting was part of an exhibition 'Ancestral call' in Switzerland ABOUT THE ARTWORK On this canvas, the viewer assumes the role of an observer of a restless dream. The sleeping girl appears to be holding her deepest, most secret desires under the enchanting dome. The poisonous snake entwining the rose symbolizes the duality of emotion that accompanies our most intimate desires. Tranquility and fear, hope and doubt intertwine, leaving us with a sense of unease both by day and by night. The most intimate desires prove vulnerable to the blows of doubt, creating a profound emotional kaleidoscope where magic and reality intertwine in a unique dance of shadows and lights. ABOUT ARTIST Olha Vlasova is a Ukrainian artist who has been passionate about painting since childhood. She received her higher art education in painting and costume design, which heavily influenced her work. Ornamentation also plays a significant role in her art. Olha experiments with various techniques and materials, but she finds that acrylics offer boundless possibilities for imagination and exploration. As a professional artist, Olha is deeply committed to exploring the themes of female sexuality and self-worth. Her goal is to illustrate that a woman's appearance does not diminish her importance or autonomy. Olha asserts that a woman's appearance is her choice, not a means to achieve goals at the expense of men. As an artist, Olha focuses her research on conveying the personal experiences of women who encounter condescension and the diminution of their value due to sensitivity and femininity. She conveys that the concepts of femininity and seriousness, playfulness and rationality are not mutually exclusive and can coexist. Olha's work actively participates in the discussion on tolerance and the pursuit of creating a safe space for self-expression. She incorporates themes of new sincerity in her work, embodying the desire to be oneself without the fear of encountering mockery, sarcasm, or societal labeling. She has extensive artistic experience, and her works are held in private collections in the USA, Norway, Denmark, France, and Ukraine.

"Reflection", Figurative painting by Olha Vlasova
Located in Zofingen, AG
The edges are painted The painting was part of an exhibition 'Ancestral call' in Switzerland The "Melancholy" series of paintings reveals the inner world of a person lost in his own emotions. When inner reflection takes precedence over life itself we strive to uncover our essence and understand who we truly are. This collection delves deep into reflections on self-discovery and one's nature. The paintings are imbued with sadness and quiet serenity, while the blue and purple color palette emphasizes the magical and unreal quality of the scenes depicted. The symbolism of horses in the paintings embodies inner forces that can be either wild and untamed or tamed and controlled. It reflects the struggle with inner conflict and ambiguity. The artist hopes that viewers will reflect on their feelings and inner contradictions while contemplating these paintings. Whether they fear sorrow or, on the contrary, seek constant joy without understanding the potential for growth hidden in melancholy. The purpose of this series is to encourage inner exploration and answer the question of whether melancholy is a problem or a path to emotional growth. The artist believes that the heart of melancholy may be a key to a deeper understanding of oneself and one's emotional landscape. ABOUT ARTIST Olha...

Imagine a Night - Impasto Thick Paint Colorful Original Figurative Art
By Cynthia Coulombe Bégin
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Coulombe-Bégin's dynamic acrylic on canvas works seek to produce a metamorphic interpretation of the artist's inner identity. Her paintings make ample use of contrasting colors to create exuberance and energy in her images. Inspired by street art, Coulombe Bégin 's paintings range from the abstract to the surreal and employ a variety of techniques and materials. Her contemporary artworks draw inspiration from body image, the universally recognizable symbol of hearts, and the experience of humankind. She brings a sensitivity to her work that stems from her exploration of identity and the joy and happiness of existence. Coulombe-Bégin draws us into her internal world: exploring the soul and matter, conscience, and the modern universe. This original figurative pop art painting measures 48 inches square. The thickly textured paint is applied with tactile brushwork. It is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Coulombe-Bégin’s work portrays from colorful hearts to specific parts of the human body, especially large close-up portrayals of the mouth and eyes, which are depicted with great contrasts of color and chiaroscuro. These symbols are constructed with specific gestures and drippings in which Coulombe-Bégin expresses an abstract universe full of movement, symbolism, and eroticism. Born in Miami, Coulombe-Bégin grew up in Quebec City where she earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2006 from Laval University. Starting very young, her parents focused a great deal on both the arts and athletics which helped her develop her mode of expression. “I am particularly interested in the fragmented corporal shell, which I emphasize through spontaneous movement and vivid colors.” stated Coulombe-Bégin. “My experience with painting has led me to see things differently, to self-discovery and great astonishment." Coulombe-Bégin's works have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including Canada, the United States, Europe, South America, and Australia.
