This is an original antique 19th-century large oil painting on canvas painting depicting a portrait of a Lady in a long black dress, standing near a bright red curtain.
The painting overall is in good antique condition, has some craquelures due to age, and has No visible signature on the front. It has notes on the backside of the canvas: By C. Foster 494 Pine Str Providence, RI. Christmas 1879. Looks like this painting was a Christmas gift, which means it was painted even before 1879.
Presented in a period wood frame. The frame has some scuffs and scratches due to age.

Framed measuring 34.5"x 26.5", the painting measures 30" x 22".
