Antoine Daens
Antoine Daens was born in Brussels, Belgium, in 1871. He was an impressionist painter of figures of young women, portraits, still life subjects, nudes, interiors, gardens and landscapes. He painted with oils and pastels. He studied at the Brussels Academy of Fine Art. Daens exhibited often at the Belgian venues, including at the Brussels Gallery in 1918. He was named a professor at the Watermael-Boitsfort Academy of Fine Art, where he spent many years as a master teacher. He died in Ixelles, Belgium, in 1946. Today, his paintings can be found in private and public collections, including at the Ixelles Museum of Fine Art in Belgium.
