Wonderfully painted early 20th century English still life of flowers.
The artist has painted these flowers in an Impressionist manner but with the traditional use of layers and layers of paint. Each layer building up to the final effect of the very decorative flower heads.
The style was very popular in France but this piece seems to have been painted in the Uk as the canvas has an English canvas makers stamp on the reverse.
