About the Item
Pale Cat Orchid on Red floral still life explores the many subtleties of hue found on pale, nearly white, Catasetum Orchid flowers. Descriptive brushstrokes shape cheerful petals, discovering many hints of soft color amid touches of green, all in vivid contrast to the bold red background.
Painted in oil on ¼ inch thick canvas panel, this unframed painting is 8 x 8 inches. Signed on verso, this artwork includes an official certificate of authenticity.
Katherine Kean’s paintings seek moments of breath-taking transition in nature; a gathering of clouds or changing tides; times when the elements of the landscape combine with the alchemy of imagination to illuminate the world of heightened mood and sensation. Her work aims to capture these fleeting moments in time and reveal the serene center that can arise in the midst of nature's turbulence.
Katherine Kean has exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States, and has been acquired by many private and corporate collections. She has been honored to have her work selected for Bloomingdales in Santa Monica, California, Schiffer's 100 Artists of the West Coast II, Paint America's Paint the Parks, Manhattan Arts Healing Arts International's Celebrate the Healing Power of Art and the National Weather Center 2015 Biennale.

'Studio Bloom' - still life - floral, botanical, naturalism, pop of red
Located in Atlanta, GA
This painting features hues of green, red, orange and grey.
Chattanooga-based artist Christina Renfer Vogel’s “Turning Towards the Sun” features paintings that reflect an intentional turn towards beauty in the face of the tension & uncertainty of recent years. Through nourishing periods of focused observation, she has allowed herself to delight in jubilant color, playful pattern & sensual gesture. Her works delight in the delicate unfurling of a tender leaf & the gentle turn towards an open window, as flowers seek warmth & stretch towards sunlight in the space of a painting session.
