Wonderful mid century impressionist floral still life of zinnias by Polish artist Stefania Kaja-Bilanska (AKA, Bilania) (Polish, 1922-1995), 1964. Signed lower right corner; exhibit label on verso. Condition: excellent; minor craquelure. Image size: 18"H x 21"W. Presented in rustic wood frame; size: 21"H x 23"W x 1"D.
Stefania Kaja-Bilanska painter and poet, founder and leader of the group "palette". This comprised of dozens of lovers of painting, who since the 60s exhibited their works in various galleries in the city of Krakow, Poland and the region, and also participated in the open-air painting exhibitions. The Group had its artistic members, among which the names of such outstanding artists as Ludwik Pindel, Jerzy Napieracz and Włodzimierz Karcz. These artists put on numerous workshops fo artists and selected the best works in making their choice for group shows. "Palette" had its proprietary commercial gallery on the streets of Krakow, Poland. Currently the artists group titled "pallets" continues the work begun by the group with the name "Palette".
