Eugene Isabey (1803-1886) Coastal Scene. Signed. Between Romanticism and Impressionism and influenced by Delacroix and Gericault, Isabey spent much time on the Normandy coast sketching and painting. This softly hued and brooding autumnal oil painting conveys the moody grey skies and mottled underbrush of the area with a group of locals in the foreground. Louis Gabriel Eugene Isabey 1803-1886.
