This old woman is a 92-year-old Ukrainian who meets Ukrainian soldiers who liberated her village from Russian invaders. She gives the soldiers what is abundant - apples from her garden. The photo of this woman with kind, penetrating and trusting blue eyes that are watering from old age, with crusty hands that have worked all her life, struck me to the core. And not only because this photo is about the war in Ukraine. I felt someone very close to me in this woman - like my grandmother, and in her gifts, which she holds so carefully in her hands, I see not just apples, but a blessing that an old woman bestows on her descendants from the height of her years, wisdom and love .
