About the Item

While in Central Park, Photographer Mitchell Funk captures a moment where a leafless tree trunk and a faceless human with a flowering hat have a symbiosis. They are both weird looking. The tree has grown an odd shape globy nob. The woman ( who actually is a man) has sprouted a bizarre hat. The hat takes on a floral presence that is missing from the tree. Funk has composed the picture so that the subjects in question communicate with each other. The whole scene is soaked in a high-contrast golden light and is as much abstraction as it is representation. Signed , dated, numbered on lower right, Edition 2 of 15. Unframed. Other size available, Printed later - Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum.
