About the Item
New York City, New York, 1960s, black and white view of the Lower Manhattan skyline as seen from the water. The photograph captures the dense array of skyscrapers, showcasing the architectural diversity of the time, including classic Art Deco towers and more modern office buildings. Seagulls are seen flying over the harbor, adding a dynamic element to the otherwise static cityscape. This image reflects the iconic and ever-evolving skyline of New York during the mid-20th century. Andres was born 1905 in Germany and passed away 1992. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951.
The print is new, a Fine Art Print on high quality paper (Hahnemühle) made by Whitewall. It comes to you in a tube.
