About the Item
Views of Ghetto in Rome is a lot of two photographic prints on gelatin bromide hard paper. Information about pictures are printed on the front: "307. ROMA- Avanzi del Portico di Ottavio eretto da Augusto (I Secolo)" and " 507. ROMA- Casa detta di S. Paolo in via degli Strengari nel Ghetto".
These photographs are from the Archive of Studio Vasari, although the name does not appear on the margins of the prints. The conditions are excellent, with beautiful bromide oxidation. The photo numbered 507 has a missing small part of the lower-left corner (probably cut).
A wonderful example of the everyday life of the historical Jewish community in Rome, during the first years of XX century.
Studio Vasari was the most famous architectural photo studio in Rome during the end of XIX century to the midle of XX.
