Cristina Fontsare works with Fuji Peel Apart Instant Film. The film has a positive and negative image which she intervenes with months after taking the original image. During this time the chemicals are still working in the dormant negative. These pictures were taken in 2021 but it was not until spring 2022 that the final image appeared following her intervention with household cleaning products.
Fontsare wanted to clean and disinfect the present, the past, her memories and the whole world to start anew.

Cristina Fontsare
Cristina Fontsare was born and raised in Barcelona where she studied Fine Arts and Landscape Architecture. She completed her studies in London and Paris. She is interested in the narrative sense of photography, that frozen moment that allows an ambiguous narrative. That intermediate moment which gives place to the spectator to create his own story, to compose his own mental images, recreating a separate sphere constructed in between a shared reality and an imaginary world.

This is a photo contemporary collage project based on modern art. Greatly influenced by natural figures and artificial textures. I love to collect black and white photos of female portraits, cutting out the parts and stripping them from the original context, combining them with the abstract design figure, to get a new composition.
This project is about 'she', every single piece has a unique female image, and each composition has a different character. Mysterious women are always a very attractive point to me.
Ideally, behind every independent female figure, I want the audience to see a gentle but strong female image. Its basic sense is to make her seem to have life, when she smiles or looks up, every move is gentle and beautiful.
"Memory" is another word I would like to mention in this project. Behind every one of my works, there is a memory of different-sometimes or that one day. It almost mirrors my time, my thoughts, and my personality. like a quote from Kurt Cobain's journals "I use bits...
