About the Item
Gustavo Ten Hoever was born in Uruguay and he attended photography school in Montevideo before moving to New York City.
He now divides his time between Paris and New York. During an an eye opening trip to the Brazilian Amazon, he began shooting for his first photo exhibition, “Full Moon People,” covering the indigenous people of this region. Since then, Ten Hoever has travelled extensively and exhibited internationally with shows in New York, Connecticut, London, Paris, Geneve, Zurich and Gstaad.
Ten Hover's photography is a spiritual quest to capture the essence of a place, a person, a moment and his images are distinguished by an unaffected interaction of nature and space, beings and objects. Through his lens we are offered a view of nature that composes the beautiful and the strange, the simple and the sublime. He works through a broad range of photographic style and genre and his pictures are greatly influenced by literature and poetry. It is the calm and dreamy nature of his images that affect viewers most.
