Best known for his photographs of libraries and reading rooms from around the world—in works such as George Peabody Library II, Baltimore (2017) and Riggs Library I, Washington DC (2017)—Görner captures the atmosphere of absolute silence and concentration the spaces embody while also revealing their almost cathedral-like sense of grandeur. This series is called the 'Secret World Of Plants'. It uplifts us, inspires us, and appeals to inner spheres of beauty and tranquility. "In this body of work I am particularly interested in the tension between areas of sharpness and spheres that remain undefined, blurred, leading into a magical world. It is my wish that these pictures allow the viewer to experience an open space of his own inner stillness."
