About the Item
Two Staten Island Ferries lead the eye to a silhouetted Statue of Liberty caressed by golden morning light. The entire composition is framed by a pyramid shape formed by ship cranes in the cargo docks along Brooklyn Heights. The photograph is a masterpiece of design. Sadly, the docks along Brooklyn Heights and the old ferries do not exist anymore. Fortunately, Mitchell Funk's faithful representation serves as a remembrance of old New York's gritty beauty.
Signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed, printed later. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper

In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
