Giclee Print on Rag Signed, Editioned Print. Additional sizes and pricing available upon request. Michael Furman has had the unique pleasure of photographing the world’s most significant cars. From the earliest “conveyances” to cars that foretell the future, Michael has created portraits that insightfully express his subject’s historical and aesthetic importance. A key element to Michael’s style is to present the car from the perspective of the designers and engineers who created the car; their thoughts, their motivations, and the social and political context in which they worked. His approach has been graciously embraced by major collectors, museums and concours events around the world. Michael studied photography at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a Fine Arts degree in 1974. Upon graduation, he opened his studio in his native Philadelphia, and built a successful business shooting still life assignments for major advertising and corporate clients. But it was a long-standing love of cars that led him to the challenge of shooting cars in the studio. While shooting new cars for the major manufacturers, Michael was asked to shoot a number of vintage automobiles and motorcycles. He instantly became enamored with these elegant forms; this path leading to his position as the most sought-after photographer of significant automobiles in the world. Major exhibitions have included Michael Furman at The Automotive Hall of Fame, Legendary Italian Automobiles at the Alden B. Dow Museum in Midland, Michigan and in 2011 The Ralph Lauren exhibition in Paris. Michael is a regular guest lecturer at art schools and professional gatherings across the United States. He has also been honored by American Photographer, Communication Arts and PhotoGraphis, AutoAficionado, Automobile Quarterly, Automobile Magazine and The International Historic Motoring Awards.

Description - Julian Wasser started his career in photography in the Washington DC bureau of the Associated Press where he met and accompanied the famous news photographer Weegee – who would become a lasting influence on him. In the mid-60s Wasser moved to Los Angeles as a contract photographer for TIME, LIFE, and FORTUNE magazines and becoming internationally known as the go to guy for getting candid but memorably composed photographs. (His iconic images of Jack Nicholson and Anjelica Huston; Marcel Duchamp and Eve Babitz; and a young Jodie Foster are already classics.) In 1968 TIME Magazine assigned Wasser to go to the home of the young writer Joan Didion whose book Slouching Towards Bethlehem was becoming a literary sensation. “I’d read her fiction,” said Wasser. “and she didn’t miss a thing.
