Porcelain II - underwater nude photograph - print on paper 16" х 24"

2018

About the Item

"Porcelain II" captures a young naked woman floating in dark waters, their pale form creating ethereal ripples against the black backdrop. This underwater fine art photograph showcases minimalist composition with a stark contrast between the porcelain-like skin and the inky depths. Alex Sher's work evokes the dreamlike quality pioneered in underwater photography, blending human form with liquid abstraction. The image's haunting elegance echoes classical sculpture while exploring themes of weightlessness and vulnerability. A mesmerizing addition to contemporary underwater fine art that challenges perceptions of body and movement in submerged spaces. Original gallery quality archival pigment print on archival paper signed by the artist, furnished with certificate of authenticity. Limited edition of 24 Paper size: 18" x 24" Image size: 15.7" x 23.5" The photograph has been exhibited at: 2024 🇺🇸 Roth & Taylor Gallery (Los Angeles, United States) 2023 🇺🇸 Beverly Hills Art (Beverly Hills, United States) 2023 🇺🇸 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Beverly Hills Art (Beverly Hills, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Brushstrokes over Bullets (Bel Air, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Art San Diego (San Diego, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Spectrum (Miami, United States) 2021 🇺🇸 CadFab Gallery (Los Angeles, United States) 2021 🇺🇸 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, United States) 2019 🇺🇸 Selection (Los Angeles, United States) 2019 🇺🇸 The IN Gallery (San Diego, United States) 2019 🇺🇸 Artexpo NY (New York, United States) It was recently published in: 2025 🇺🇸 Art Market (US) 2024 🇺🇸 VoyageLA Magazine (Los Angeles, US) 2023 🇺🇸 Miami to Manhattan lifestyle magazine (US) 2023 🇺🇸 TREND MAG (US) 2023 🇫🇷 Fienfh (Paris, France) 2022 🇫🇷 Moevir (Paris, France) 2022 🇺🇸 6x Portrait (US) 2022 🇺🇸 Lens Culture Editor s Pick (US) 2022 🇺🇸 PUMP Magazine (US) 2022 🇬🇷 UNTOLD Magazine Fine Art (Athens, Greece) 2022 🇺🇸 LensWork Book Trilogies (US) 2021 🇺🇸 Cont Art Curator Mag (US) 2021 🇫🇷 Moevir (Paris, France) 2021 🇺🇸 SPOTLIGHT MAGAZINE (US) 2021 🇮🇹 The STYLE Researcher (Italy) 2021 🇺🇸 Chiiz (US) Alex Sher is an award-winning American underwater fine art photographer internationally recognized for his distinctive depictions of feminine sensuality. Power Pilgrimage - Birth Scene from the Farm and Ina May Gaskin (Red+Yellow)
By Natalie Lennard
Located in Gilroy, CA
In 1971, three hundred hippies set off from California in a convoy of 90 trucks and schoolbuses to find a new life. The pregnant women amongst them, out a desire to treat birth as a normal part of proceedings, passed around birth manuals and learnt to deliver each others' babies on the road. It was the memory of the very first woman, calmly and tenderly birthing in the arms of her husband in the back of a bus on a pitstop, that was to change the lives of two watching women...
