This example was offerd at Christies in 2018; catalogued by them as one of an edition of 5 printed 1969–1970 by James Dow for an exhibition at MOMA, NY. With several numerical annotations, verso. James Agee (American, 1909-1955) was a poet, novelist, journalist and film critic. His best known work is Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, a book about the effects of the Depression in Alabama. The work grew out of an assignment from Fortune Magazine in 1936 on which he collaborated with the photographer Walker Evans. The work was not published by Fortune, and was put into book form by Agee and Evans, and published in 1941. Considered a masterwork today, the book sold poorly and was remaindered by the publisher. Old Field is a small town on the North Shore of Long Island, about midway out on the Island, facing about halfway between Norwalk and New Haven, CT. At the Point there is a historic lighthouse
