About the Item
ABOUT THIS PIECE: “My main focus is on painting, but whenever an idea or a thought can be better conveyed in another medium I can switch to photography, sculpture or embroidery. I like this contradiction of bringing new media or ideas together with old, traditional techniques and tools. We live in a time where images are created and deleted in seconds, and there are more of them than ever before. I'm interested in dealing with this topic in my artistic practice, using an old, traditional and “slow” medium like painting. How can volatility get depicted and how can the aesthetics of a digital medium be represented visually? Painting finds possibilities of translation and has the ability to react to the flood of pictures - and this also applies to both, the artist and the viewer - with calm and contemplation!” - Gabi Mitterer
ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Gabi Mitterer is based in Austria and studied Painting and Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. As a multi-discipline artist with a focus on painting, her work ranges from the influences of digital aesthetics through concrete, constructive art to the topics of everyday analysis or identity.
ADDITIONAL SIZES AND FRAMING: Additional sizes are available. Please inquire for more information on larger sizes. We offer fully archival professional framing for all prints for an additional cost. Framing is available in white, black or natural wood and prints can be framed either with or without a mat board. We also offer face mounting to plexiglas. Please inquire for pricing and more details on our framing.
PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship unframed prints internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.

HOPE ( framed ) - 4 individual conceptual photographs spelling motivational word
By Christian Stoll
Located in San Francisco, CA
large scale conceptual environmental still life photographs playing with viewer's perspective creating individual letters from found objects spelling the word HOPE
H-O-P-E by Christian Stoll
Incredible details in this body of work: focusing in on this epic photograph work, you will find yourself lost in the artwork's details. Reminiscent of the appropriation artwork of Vik Muniz, Christian Stoll arranges everyday objects to spell letters of the alphabet.
Only at close inspection does the viewer realize he/she is looking at an actual photograph, created in camera rather than with digital manipulation.
