About the Item

An original etching by Joan Miro, 1957. It was created as a title page for the series consisting of 23 original engravings, 6 of which were chosen to illustrate "La Bague d'Aurore" by Rene Crevel. This piece is hand signed on the back and numbered from the edition of 60 on Rives vellum (see multiple edition sizes below). The sheet measures 6.5 x 5.3 inches, the plate measures 5.5 x 4.5 inches, and the framed dimensions are 20.5 x 19.5 inches. Referenced as number 122 in "Miro Engravings, Vol. I" by Jacques Dupin. Edition Sizes: -87 copies, of which 17 copies on Japanese nacred paper, numbered 1 and 2 from I to XV. -60 copies on Rives vellum numbered from 1 to 60. -10 copies on Rives vellum numbered from E.A. 1 to E.A. 10. -several artist proofs and several color separations on various papers and on parchment. -12 copies of the table of contents and of the black state were printed on Rives vellum, touched up by the hand of the artist, numbered I to XII and signed.
