ABOUT THIS PIECE: “Meadow” is an ongoing project— started in late 2012— where I use mylar to photograph the reflections of my subjects. I am mimicking the medium of oil painting through a digital practice, while speaking about reflections and how they distort our perceptions of reality. Crafting these images sparked my experimentation with layering subjects in front of my lens to create quizzically surreal photographs without the use of Photoshop.
ABOUT THIS ARTIST: New York City based photographer Jordan Tiberio is more of a scientist than a photographer whose subjects gently blossom underneath the “lens” of her microscope. She discovers things otherwise unseen, buried, emotions so small you can feel her holding her breath as she observes them. Like magnified images of sand particles, her subjects are at once exquisite and otherworldly, but unlike the cold images of a scientist, Tiberio’s works are charged with affection, pulling her viewer into her blanket of empathy, even in her still-life images. She received her BFA in photography from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2015, prior to that her work had already been the recipient of numerous awards and appeared in several magazines online and in print, such as The Huffington Post, Dazed, and i-D magazine.
PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship unframed prints internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.

Jordan Tiberio is a photographic artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Long fascinated by the genre of hyperrealism painting, she began to explore the idea of creating the opposite: painterly photographs. For the past 8 years, Liquid Mirrors has asked the viewer to decipher which medium they’re looking at— pixels or brush strokes? The quirky, quizzical aspect of this series is the common thread throughout her whole body of work.
